Joanna LaHaie is a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of the Coordinator for Cyber Issues at the U.S. Department of State. In her role, Ms. LaHaie oversees the budgets and coordination for U.S. cyber capacity building projects and international outreach. During her tenure at the Department, Ms. LaHaie served as a Special Assistant to the Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security. Prior to joining the U.S. Department of State, Ms. LaHaie worked for six years on international rule of law capacity building for the U.S. Department of Justice and served for two years as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in the education sector. In addition to her role at the U.S. Department of State, Ms. LaHaie teaches English to the District of Columbia adult immigrant community, and serves on the Board of Trustees for GambiaRising. Ms. LaHaie is a graduate from Loyola University Maryland where she studied Political Science and Mathematics.
